Description
Low-Profile Solar Water Heater
The low-profile solar heater features an external protective structure made of specially treated PVC, resistant to UV radiation.
Its transparent surface is made of POLICARB® double-wall polycarbonate with a 10 mm air gap, designed to withstand ultraviolet exposure while maintaining high light transmittance. Compared to conventional glass used in standard solar collectors, this material is 80% lighter and significantly more resistant to extreme weather conditions such as hail or frost — making this compact solar unit virtually unbreakable.
The top cover, also made of PVC, can be removed without the use of tools, thanks to special clip-on connectors.
Thermal insulation consists of 30 mm polyurethane foam lined with an aluminum sheet, while the perimeter is reinforced with four layers of 25 mm fiberglass.
Water storage takes place inside a series of high-strength stainless-steel tanks, designed to withstand both pressure and corrosive water.
The tanks are joined at their ends with specially designed thermoplastic and fiberglass connectors, engineered to be tamper-proof without special tools and a high-tension press. A central copper tube runs through and connects the tanks, ensuring continuous water flow and even heat distribution.
The end caps are patented by PLEION, the world’s leading manufacturer of low-profile solar heaters.
The unit’s mounting brackets allow installation at various tilt angles — 45º (included) or optional 10º, 15º, 30º, and 60º.
The 10º bases make this solar system virtually invisible when installed, blending seamlessly with any roofline.
